He graduated in Medicine from Buenos Aires University (1991) and specialized in General Surgery and Liver Transplantation at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. He later became Head of the Liver Transplant Program at the University Hospital of Zurich (2003-2006). Since 2006, he has led Liver Surgery and Abdominal Organ Transplantation at Hospital Alemán de Buenos Aires. He is the Founder and President of the Argentinian Foundation for Liver Cancer, holds a PhD, and is a Full Professor. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the European Board of Surgery, and an active member of multiple international surgical societies
