Blayne Amir Sayed, MD PhD is an Assistant Professor in the University of Toronto Department of Surgery. His clinical expertise includes pediatric and adult liver transplantation, living donor liver transplantation, minimally invasive liver surgery, portal hypertension and pediatric hepatopancreatobiliary malignancies. Dr. Sayed is the Surgical Lead for Pediatric Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children and a staff surgeon at the University Health Network Ajmera Transplant Center. He is an Associate Scientist in the Cell and Systems Biology Program at the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute, where his research focuses on the role of cell death pathways in shaping the immune response during liver injury.
